Expand your binding horizons! It is time to explore the wonderful world of endpapers!
Endpapers are an important part of any binding, serving both a structural and a decorative purpose.
Many binders survive on a repertoire of only a few types (or perhaps only one!). There are however, many varieties, including those formed from a single sheet of paper, the 'made' type, leather and cloth jointed, zigzag, and those sewn on to the text block as an additional section.
In this workshop, under Ted's expert tuition, the structure and purpose of each type will be explained and demonstrated.
Participants will construct a number of useful and interesting endpapers to take home for future reference.
All materials and tools are supplied at the Bindery
Tea, coffee and biscuits will be supplied. There will be tea breaks and lunch which you are welcome to bring with you or there are cafes and markets nearby.
