How many boxes can we make in a day? Let's find out and see... at least four and maybe more. Taking box making beyond the basics, we will construct box structures based on traditional designs with book boards and decorative papers. Each box we explore will be of a different design. We shall explore nesting boxes - where each box goes into another and boxes that have divided compartments and drawers.
The workshop includes cutting, gluing and constructing a cardboard box, working out the cuts for the decorative paper and then gluing the paper and covering the box. With practice these straightforward techniques can be used to make sturdy and diverse shaped and styled boxes that look great and can be used for anything from gift boxes to desk sets to storage chests.
In this workshop you will:
• Learn to make measure and cut out boards
• Create several sturdy and diverse shaped and size of boxes that looks great
All materials and tools are supplied at the Bindery
